I found a song for the music lovers out there. Pandora.com uses the Music Genome Project to determine what kind of music you might like. You simply type in an artist or song to start a station, and it will compile a playlist for you from information they have compiled for 5 years now. Its a great way to find new artists (or new to me anyways). And its a great way to pass the hours in cubeville…

Taking Luke’s suggestion in a previous comment, I was checking out digg.com today, when I found a link to a WordPress plugin called wp-shortstat.
This plugin adds a small tab to the WordPress dashboard screen that allows you to view up-to-date stats for hits on your blog. It looks a lil something like this:

Someone has finally done it! There is now a free WordPress hosting company. I just signed up for it to see if there were any ads on it, and there are none! So far there are 8 themes to choose from, with some basic editing available for each theme. It would be nice to see them allow users to upload their own themes, but I’m sure there are copyright issues, etc. involved with that.
So for anyone that is reading this blog, and does not already have a blogger account, or doesn’t have the last name of Cozart (I’m willing to provide .cozart.org to anyone), I would recommend wordpress.com just off of first impressions. If I have time, I will try to post a better review in the future…

For those of you that read /., I’m sure you have read about this already, but for those of you that don’t, it seems that there is a company that thinks great pieces of literature can be made more accessible to today’s youth. Do they honestly think that by turning catchy phrases from these great works into the “truncated shorthand of mobile phones” will encourage youth to read more? Seems like that would just encourage Cliffs Notes to release new versions of their material in this “truncated shorthand”. Honestly, this is just opening the door for today’s youth to get lazier and lazier.

I am proud to say that I am in a family of bloggers! 3 out of 5 Cozart families have member(s) that deem it necessary (I used that phrase today at work in an email and got kudos on it, so I deemed it necessary to use here) to keep others informed of their lives through the blogosphere.
First, we have Val from the Stephens side of the Cozart family keeping everyone informed with what is going on in the life of a farmer in the great county of Dawson. This site is in constant limbo, however, as his son Jess deems it necessary to infringe on the First Amendment rights of his father.
Also, from the House of Stephens, we have the crazy accountants from London, Matt and Bree. I use the term “accountant” loosely here there is a current debate on whether or not to call them accountants or constant vacationers. I need a job overseas where the hours are short and the vacations are never-ending.
Moving on to the Winfrey household, Kate, who is no longer in Spain, keeps a blog that hints at an alternate life as a pirate. Many people may actually read her blog hoping to catch another comment from the great “el conqui” (Not to be confused with the Conkey we have working here at the TXSDC). Be prepared to brush the dust off your “R” key if you deem it necessary to comment, as pirate talk is encouraged.
Finally, from the House of (LJ) Cozart, you have my blog. Full of random musings, boring rants on work (Yes Bree and Matt, we true Americans still have to work 40+ hours per week), and complaints about the (in)conveniences of modern technology, it is the only blog that pays homeage to the Cozart namesake in its URL.
Only two families left to go until all 5 bloodlines are represented: the Peavey’s and the House of (Billy) Cozart. If anyone out there knows of anyone else in the family that has a blog, website, or *gag* a myspace account, please let me know. I need more favorites to add to my morning internet browsing.
Oh, I deem it necessary to mention Luke’s website. He may not be immediate family legally, but he is in my book.

Just to keep my readers abreast of what is going on right this very instant in my life (I know there are like 3 readers, but I like to build myself up), I am stuck at work and its 2:00 in the A.M. You didn’t read that incorrectly. 2:00 A.M. CST. Fun stuff right? What was supposed to be a 30 minute conference call has turned into a marathon filled with irate state employees, old cranky men getting woken up at hours they haven’t seen since their early twenties, and lots of endless glancing at the clock. Any sympathy that you have would be greatly appreciated.
By the way, congratulations to Rachael for getting the answer to the non-computer term question below. You have won a free trip to China! Offer void if you are already there though.

It was brought to my attention this weekend that I have not blogged in a while, so hopefully I can make up for it today. Much to the surprise of some people, I actually do have to do some work while at work, and cannot afford to waste the day away blogging. However, if anyone wants to give me a job blogging, I would be more than happy to do that!
You know how much I like lists/bullets, so here goes:
- Reformation Day was celebrated in full force this past weekend here in San Angelo. Pope Leo X, Luther, a monk, and a priest all showed up to celebrate, along with some other offending costumes. Unfortunately, I did not have my camera (still stuck in Fort Worth), so I will have to try and get the pictures from someone who was taking pictures.
- Ok, this was going to wait until the last bullet, so this list would be in some sort of order, but I just got another email, so I feel that I must blog about it now. Each month I am required to file a security report with the State of Texas about intrusions, infections, inflammations, and the like (Note: Free shout-out to whoever can pick out the non-computer term out of that list), and each month I wait until the last minute. Have to double check all my reports, just to make sure I don’t miss anything. So anyways, each month I get an email from the person in charge of the DIR Security Office about filing this report. Its a routine, and routines are good. For some reason, everyone that gets a copy of the email here feels that they need to send it to me as a reminder or something. So in my inbox right now I have 4 copies of the same email for the month of October, and I just looked in my archives and found 4 emails for each month. I GET THE EMAIL! Don’t send me copies! Sheesh.
- Speaking of work, I am now officially a Network Engineer NG Internal Sys2! Sounds important huh?!
- We celebrated Granny’s 80th birthday this weekend. I wish the Lamesa Press Reporter was online so that I could post the Birthday announcement, but alas, they are still stuck in the 90’s.
- Speaking of Granny’s party, I got to see my cousin from London, who was chastised for the lack of updates on their blog. In the process I learned that cousin Kate also has a blog! In addition, I also learned that Uncle Val had a blog until a faithful commenter of mine decided to get rid of it. Hopefully the Patricia Country Club will return shortly after much prodding from me.
- TAMU lost again this weekend. To Tech. Tear.
- Toothaches suck.
- We tried to watch this version of “The Amittyville Horror” this weekend but instead rented the original. Do not repeat this mistake. I thought it was supposed to be a horror show.
- It still does not pay to forward emails. Please discontinue this process as soon as possible.
