No my eyesight hasn’t gone south on me. Laura has finally given into the peer pressure and started Tunnell Vision. (For those of you that may not know, her last name is Tunnell, hence the name.)
So yeah, make sure you make her feel welcome and all that jazz. Witty comments are encouraged; embarrassing stories about me are not.

Ok, I’ve rewritten this post about 10 times already today, trying to make it witty, or sound good, or something, but its just not working. So instead I have decided that I will just post and let it be boring or whatever. Either way, you are probably going to read it.
I had the best/worst breakfast this morning. If you want to call it breakfast. The reason I question whether or not I would call it breakfast is because I had the greatest snack food in the world: White Donuts! Thats right. cozart.org’s official greatest Mrs. Baird’s snack food is Powdered Sugar Donuts. (I don’t know that the grammar in the previous sentence is correct, so I am just going to assume that it is and continue on…) Funny how companies always come up with fancy names and then everyone else just calls them by what they really are. Like white donuts.
So anyways, these little gems of powdered sugar and whatever they make the donut out of are quite possibly my favorite breakfast food of all time. I think I can trace it back to Saturday mornings when we would have to go to Lubbock to visit Dr. Wentz. Seems like we would have either white donuts or donuts from the Donut Stop. Either way I had donuts and chocolate milk, but that isn’t the point. The point is that you can never get full from eating these delicious treats. I promise between us four kids growing up, we could put away a whole package of 48 donuts in a single sitting. Healthy? Probably not. Good? You betcha!
So here’s to you Mr. Candy Machine Guy! And to all those here at work who took the time to petition Mr. Candy Machine Guy to add an extra row of white donuts to the candy machine: Thank you!
Lon: Maybe you could serve these for breakfast at your school of rearing. Nothing like a sugar rush to steady those eager little hands as they try to tie double knots.

Due to popular demand, a new post for you to shower with comments.
First off, not to downplay any comments that were made on previous posts, but my life as a blogger has reached its climax. Don’t take this as me stepping down or anywhere close to that, but something happened that I never thought imaginable: My dad posted a comment! For those of you that may not know, the infamous Larry Joe refuses to use computers. (Strange that my life is so entangled with them, yet my dad is so against them.) Yet somehow my mom got him to use a computer, and on top of that get on the internet! For all my more experienced readers, make sure that you make him feel welcome!
Secondly, some interesting comments have been made between my favorite brother-in-law and a certain special someone. The comments were interesting enough to draw attention from Larry Joe, and I beseech either Duane or Laura to fully explain what is meant to be “tight”, and also, is it proper for two said individuals to be “tight?”
Thirdly, to put Jess’s mind at ease, I am indeed doing well. There was a brief incident last night with a flower bed, but no serious harm was done.

At work. 2 hours 32 minutes til 5. Any new emails?
Want to blog. Nothing comes to mind.
Should be productive.
Love the rain.
What will they call TomKitten when she grows up? - TomKat is already taken.
“Better Together”.
Any new emails? 2 hours 23 minutes til 5.
Did Chuck Taylor wear Chuck Taylor’s?
Why are RJ-11 ends called RJ-11 and RJ-45 ends called RJ-45?
New Email! Shucks, its spam. 99 cent shipping at Performance Bike. Should I buy something?
Whoever invented the office cube forgot to put doors on them. I wonder if this guy talking knows that I am not hearing what he is saying. Nope.
Dang my shoes are still wet from the rain. I’m sure my feet smell good.
No new email.
Sharpies smell good. And dry erase markers! They smell good together too! I wonder if sniffing them really is bad for you…
Should hang up my 2006 wall calendar. And take down my 2005 calendar.
2 hours 11 minutes til 5. No new emails. Maybe I will email myself.
Time to check the news sites. CNN is reporting the obvious. Go figure.
Should be productive. Time to walk around.
2 hours 6 minutes til 5. New email! From Katrin Adam?! Who is Katrin Adam? Oh, its spam.
The end.

Today is Max Gerlt’s 7th birthday! For those of you that don’t know Max, he is the son of Chad and Erin Gerlt and the giver of my sign name!
If you look down a few posts, you will find a link to Max’s Gallery, a collection of photographs that he took when Laura and I went to Arlington. Or just click here.
Max: Sorry I couldn’t make it to your birthday party, but if you would tell your parents that they should move closer to San Angelo, maybe I can make your next one!

First off, let me say that those who marry into the family cannot be considered in the favorite grandchild contest that has been taking place at the Country Club. (I think the consensus - or in my mind at least - is that I have already won said contest, but I do not want any confusion to occur in case the contest is brought up again sometime in the future.)
With that bit of business taken care of: Welcome to the family Shayla!
I’m not sure that anyone wants to read a guy’s comments on a wedding, so I will just post links to the pictures.

Laura, you can’t compete because you took the picture and that wouldn’t be fair to the rest of my readers, all 2 of them.

This article was posted to digg that I found deeply disturbing. It appears that the Texas Academy of Science has decided to name a Dr. Pianka as the 2006 Distinguished Texas Scientist for what appears to be his work on human genocide! In a speech given before the March 2006 Texas Academy of Science meeting, Dr. Pianka called for the elimination of 90% of the human race! Surely you would expect outrage from those present to hear his speech, but instead, it appears that he was met with thunderous applause.
AIDS is not an efficient killer, he explained, because it is too slow. His favorite candidate for eliminating 90 percent of the world’s population is airborne Ebola ( Ebola Reston ), because it is both highly lethal and it kills in days, instead of years. However, Professor Pianka did not mention that Ebola victims die a slow and torturous death as the virus initiates a cascade of biological calamities inside the victim that eventually liquefy the internal organs.
After praising the Ebola virus for its efficiency at killing, Pianka paused, leaned over the lectern, looked at us and carefully said, “We’ve got airborne 90 percent mortality in humans. Killing humans. Think about that.”
You might think to yourself: “Can this guy be serious?” You decide for yourself. You can find his self-written obituary here and a syllabus for one of his courses here.

I promise it took less time for Max (A six-year old) to figure out my camera than it did me. And I thought I was up on technology…
