So after the last failed design (you know, the one with the green background that you couldn’t read anything on) I had pretty much given up on redesigning this site. That is, until my beautiful wife made a point of telling me that my old design was exactly that: old.
So this is what I came up with. I figured, who can’t read some white text on a black background? Except for maybe the blind, but you can’t account for everything.
Anyways, this design is going to be what I work from for a while, that is until I get tired of it, or the fat lady sings, or something…
Update: If you are using Internet Explorer, the site probably will not display correctly throughout. I recommend Firefox.

So I was casually checking ESPN today, and saw an article pop up that caught my attention.
If you aren’t a regular visitor to ESPN (Which I don’t know who in their right mind wouldn’t be), you know there is a small box under the main picture on the page that scrolls through a number of stories that they are highlighting. As it was scrolling I saw the title “Hoops of Nazareth” with a picture of some young ladies standing around a basketball with an old house on the prairie in the background. Thinking that it couldn’t possible be about Nazareth, Texas (Because who in their right mind knows where Nazareth is, besides people from the South Plains?) I clicked on it only to discover that it was about that small town on the plains with whom girl’s basketball in Texas is synonymous with.
Anyways, you can read the article here. Pretty interesting take on what is happening to small town/rural life across the state, and the country. Well worth the time it takes to read it.
