A quick blurb on what was almost the ultimate away message today by BK.
(Some background: Every so often, we send links back and forth about some music we think the other should listen to…)
(Oh, and another note, BK’s status is “Away” on his messenger, so I assume that he is away.)
(09:18:48 AM) Slade: some link to a song
(09:20:00 AM) billy.box: hmm
Automatically I assume that “hmm” is BK’s away message, which to me is pretty ingenius. Ultimately it leaves the other person hanging. Is Bk there? Is he thinking about what I wrote? Does he not like the song? But really, it is just an away message that leaves the recipient full of questions. How perfect would that be?
I should have known better than to assume that it was the perfect away message. It was just BK, being BK.
And if this post makes no sense to you, oh well.

So our freshman Bible study group has formed a co-ed softball team, and last night we had our first game. Now I say we, but seeing as I am no longer a student, I just get to coach. And by coach, I mean that I get to read off the batting order that Tyler came up with.
So the first game wasn’t exactly a win, but there were some good things to come out of it. Like learning that AshLee likes catching barehanded. And Kyle likes to play with the dirt. And even though Kendall doesn’t have any shoulder sockets, he can still throw the ball with some authority.
Check out the picture below. (BTW, I am trying out flickr, so let me know if you like it better than the gallery.)
Update: So the flickr stuff isn’t working as expected. Be patient while I work to resolve this…

For those that do not know, it appears that some people are trying to realign Angelo State University with texas tech university, a move that has been met with some support, some opposition, and a lot of questions answered with vague answers, if any.
I won’t post my opinion on this yet, but I will say that in hopes of getting more information as to why the bill was proposed, I went to the website of the Coalition for ASU’s Future. All I can say is “Wow!” Can they actually expect anyone to take them seriously with a website like that? I cannot believe that someone would want to put that forward in order to try and garner support for such a big issue as this.
For those that know me, often times my thoughts on a company are made or broken by their website. Is it judgemental? Perhaps. But I believe it can say a lot about a company and how they want to project themselves to new customers. The Coalition’s website is…disappointing…at best.
I hope to post some more thoughts on this issue in the coming weeks. (That gives me some leeway as to when I have to post about it again.)
Feel free to leave your thoughts on this, but I would ask that they be somewhat educated or at least have some thought behind them.

By far the most awesome thing ever. And the cause of no productivity at workplaces across America for the next two days.
Sign up here. Be sure to check out the “Boss” button for those of you at work.
Oh, and if you want to watch a local game, I would sign up with an Alaskan zip code, otherwise it won’t let you because of blackout restrictions.

I have been trying to think of some things to post about, but everytime I think of something, I never post it. In order to correct that, as well as many other things I have not been doing (Perhaps posts on those in the future…), here is my first attempt.
So the other day Laura and I were driving to Gold’s to workout. (Yes, I know. It is astonishing that I am working out, but my tummy is a little bit rounder than it used to be.) As we were driving, we noticed an older Toyota Camry next to us (Not that the car matters), and in it we see this guy gyrating like crazy! Not sure what was going on, Laura encourages me to pull up so that we can better see what is going on. As we inch forward, we could see that this guy is going crazy on his air guitar! Now I’m not talking just kinda playing along with one hand as you drive, or whatever, but I mean seriously getting into it. He had his left hand out his window and his right hand was strumming along. Maybe strumming is the wrong word…perhaps strumming insanely? I don’t know the correct terminology, but it looked like he knew what he was doing, even like he knew what notes to play.
Enthralled by this, we continue to follow behind him after the light turned green, and the whole time, either one hand or the other was just going insane. As we approached the next light, we were both hoping aloud that the light would turn red. And by providence it did! Now I don’t know if he knew anyone was watching him, but I can assure you all the cars around were casting glances, if not staring. Anyways, he proceeds to take his left hand and run it back and forth down the neck of his “guitar”. You know, like you see the bands from the 80’s do? Yeah, he did that. And then, as the light turns green, he wisely takes hold of the steering wheel with one hand, while with the other, plays his “air piano” on the dashboard. Insane.
Oh, and while trying to imagine this, picture his head going round and round and up and down and all around! Probably the best air guitar player ever. Hands down.
Followed in a close second by this. I miss you Cates.
