air guitar
I have been trying to think of some things to post about, but everytime I think of something, I never post it. In order to correct that, as well as many other things I have not been doing (Perhaps posts on those in the future…), here is my first attempt.
So the other day Laura and I were driving to Gold’s to workout. (Yes, I know. It is astonishing that I am working out, but my tummy is a little bit rounder than it used to be.) As we were driving, we noticed an older Toyota Camry next to us (Not that the car matters), and in it we see this guy gyrating like crazy! Not sure what was going on, Laura encourages me to pull up so that we can better see what is going on. As we inch forward, we could see that this guy is going crazy on his air guitar! Now I’m not talking just kinda playing along with one hand as you drive, or whatever, but I mean seriously getting into it. He had his left hand out his window and his right hand was strumming along. Maybe strumming is the wrong word…perhaps strumming insanely? I don’t know the correct terminology, but it looked like he knew what he was doing, even like he knew what notes to play.
Enthralled by this, we continue to follow behind him after the light turned green, and the whole time, either one hand or the other was just going insane. As we approached the next light, we were both hoping aloud that the light would turn red. And by providence it did! Now I don’t know if he knew anyone was watching him, but I can assure you all the cars around were casting glances, if not staring. Anyways, he proceeds to take his left hand and run it back and forth down the neck of his “guitar”. You know, like you see the bands from the 80’s do? Yeah, he did that. And then, as the light turns green, he wisely takes hold of the steering wheel with one hand, while with the other, plays his “air piano” on the dashboard. Insane.
Oh, and while trying to imagine this, picture his head going round and round and up and down and all around! Probably the best air guitar player ever. Hands down.
Followed in a close second by this. I miss you Cates.

I blush to remember being at the light in front of Blockbuster in Brownwood at the “T,” and I was boppin’ to some great oldie, and a car full of college kids pulled up to me and honked. They were laughing and giving me the thumbs-up. I was mortified! I try to be a little more mellow now when I drive around traffic….

The team headed to Mexico last Friday saw your air guitar friend on Ave N. He was going to town! It was a great way to start the trip. We mocked him all week.
