The two youngest nephews, Carter and Parker, have a thing for elephant hunting. Every time they are down, Delbert takes them out in the pasture where they stalk the big game, and kill way more than they can take home. Here is Parker closing in on a kill:

(If you are confused about what a spider lily is, read the previous post.)

I don’t know what I was expecting when I dug up the bulbs in the backyard, but what I pulled up took me by surprise. I really figured that at most I would get a clump of two or three bulbs. Boy was I wrong!

Here is what the clump looked like before I pulled the bulbs apart:

Really looks more like a big clump of dirt, until you start pulling it apart.

Each of the bulbs look like this:

And here is what I got out of the clump:

(Those are the bulbs on the cement border, plus three were already planted.)

Pretty amazing, or I think so at least. Hopefully BK doesn’t think they are still weeds…

As soon as it started to grow, I knew it had to be some sort of fall blooming bulb, but I wasn’t real sure what it was going to be, that is until yesterday. Lo and behold, we have a spider lily (Lycoris radiata radiata) growing in our backyard! I have no idea how it got there, but it truly is an amazing and beautiful flower.

No longer are you allowed to be selfish with your time, nor are things simply about you or your spouse anymore. Your schedule now centers around their schedule, no matter how much you try to make theirs fit yours. Nights are no longer spent watching TV (No cable helps with that too!) or going to the movies or simply going out to eat, but instead enjoying the time the Lord has given you to spend with your child. It is amazing how much joy can be brought about by a simple smile.

A warning before you watch this video: It is about 3 minutes worth of Laura and I trying to get Wyatt to smile, so if that is not your thing, then don’t watch it. I didn’t dub over any cutesy music either, so don’t expect that either. Just two parents making silly noises in the hopes of getting their son to smile/laugh.
